Banana + Nuts

Last night I made the most amazing banana nut muffins from a recipe on my favorite new site Simply Recipes. I found this blog earlier in the fall when I was hunting a recipe for pumpkin bread, but it’s so snazzy that I didn’t even realize it was a blog at first …I thought it was a corporate website.

What I love about this site is the fact that the author uses real ingredients (like butter, eggs, etc), simple methods, and time-tested successes. In fact, many of the recipes are old family ones or ones that she has been making for a long time. I find that the fact that the author cherry picks and doesn’t post any ‘ol recipe she finds on a cereal box very comforting ….especially in the age of internet recipe searching.

The other quality that is very appealing is the aesthetic of the site. It’s like Target, uncluttered and easy on the eyes. Her photography is so amazing and alluring; I usually start drooling when I am looking at her photos.

The best part about the whole thing is that I have gotten so many baking-related compliments due to recipes that I have found on this site. The people I work with think I am a baking genius (and I let them), when the whole time I have just been reading and following Elise’s simple, delectable recipes.

I promise that she did not pay me or compensate me with any “black market” or “backdoor” recipes to write this post. I swear.

You can find the banana nut muffin recipe here.
